She writes that in 2013 she visited Thelma Worthington Barfield, 92 years old, in the rest home. She took photographs of some old school pictures that were in a book that Thelma had.

The second copy of this picture is a little torn, but it is clearer. The 3rd picture has the students numbered. Number 41 is Fannie Elizabeth Read (1900-1976). She hopes that others can be identified. Let us know if you recognize someone.
She also writes that there were many copies of this picture. It sold for $5. Lots of money at the time, still many bought it.

Number 7 is my dad A.B. Crownover, he was born in 1913. 
I can't name the others with a number, but Marshall and Marvin Steel, twins, and Forest Brown are in the picture.

1937 - New Boyd School Busses

Anna writes: This is the first year Boyd had a school bus system . 5 Brand new ones and looking mighty fine. Must have had 5 different routes.
Look closely at the second picture. There are children on the buses.
This would be about 1937,or ? so, would be part of the WPS, President Roosevelt's new plan to get the depression over.
Henry Clyde Read is the one dressed in white. Clyde Read , had already been driving a Garvin School route.
Clyde bought a flatbed truck in about 1921, or so, built side boards and seats, a tarp covered the back end. The children had to raise
up the flap to get on and off. If you were bad, he made you get off and walk home. 
Some where there must be something written up about when the new bus system began.

John was b 1863 d 1933 buried at Gravin.
